I can see you

Very few people have heard of Annweiler, or of its castle, Burg Trifels. However, almost everyone has heard of Richard Löwenherz or, as we know him, Richard the Lionheart. He was a 'guest' at Burg Trifels, and legend has it that Blondel, his minstrel, found him by playing music. The castle stands on a piece of hard sandstone south of the town, and we walked up to look at it. It has a spectacular position, and would have made a good blip, if this wee fella hadn't been hiding in the walls. You can see his head and the tip of his tail. It was a warm and sunny morning after days of wet weather and the small town of Annweiler is lovely; another place to revisit and spend more time in.
