Hermes
The statue of Hermes in the garden of Kilkenny Castle, silhouetted by the light from the setting sun reflecting back from the castle wall behind, and catching the attention of some onlookers.
A long drive from Edinburgh. As long as we've done in quite a while. Bar a bit of a detour into Dundalk to find somewhere to eat (don't ask - the food was good, but the detour was over complex), it was fairly straightforward. It was great to have arrived here in time to catch some evening light.
We're bushed now, so we're not going to catch any of Kilkenny's famous nightlife, and this is just an overnight pitstop on the way somewhere much more isolated. More anon.
And tonight, of course, we are in a hotel.
