Le Chateau du Pont d'Oye

The chateau was built in 1652 by Jeanne Petit, the widow of the blacksmith working at the Forges du Pont d'Oye. The domain includes a wonderful lake, also a chapel and a mill and is nicely situated in the Foret d'Anlier, some 30 km from Arlon.

Since 1937, the Chateau du Pont d'Oye is a meeting place for artists (writers, painters, sculptors, - it seems that the French writer VOLTAIRE was a regular guest ) as well as politicians and people of reputation (says the tourist guide, I'm just translating ;) )

We spent the afternoon (no rain!! :) ) walking all around the lake, admiring the numerous sources and small waterfalls and enjoying the calm and beauty of the place. Among all the pictures I took, I decided to choose the view of the Chateau.
