Grottes de Han

We decided to explore a new area of Belgium today so we headed down to the little village of Han-sur-Lesse in the Ardennes, as we'd heard about these caves.

The caves have a good reputation as apparently they have three stars in the Michelin Green Guide (in my ignorance I don't actually know what is).

The tour started in the centre of the village where we climbed aboard the one hundred year old tram for a 4km ride to the entrance of the caves. We joined a walking tour through the chambers of the cave which was very impressive (and also very cold!). The kids seemed to enjoy it but we were all looking forward to getting back into the warmth again, oh and the massive playground which we'd spotted on the way in!
