Remembering it's summer

I've started doing that rather sad thing of 'looking for signs of autumn'. I know they're here and it's coming early this year, but I thought today I would just remind myself it is still August and real summer. So it was a trip down to the Itchen where everything was looking lush and green. A swallow skimmed over the path. A kingfisher flashed along just clear of the water. What could be better than that?
