Another day, another species of Eagle
Today it was the turn of the Short-toed Eagle - Snake Eagle being what they call it around here. And not just one but suddenly there were three circling above the house mewing like a gull. Albeit pale and tatty at this time of the year but still an impressively large bird. If I'd seen this one in the Hebrides I would have been excited.
Thursday is Sablieres market day - great satisfaction to see the queue at Angelique's vegetable stall when we realised we needed nothing from her. Still had to visit the goat and pork stalls - goats and pigs are currently one stage too far I fear for our self-dependancy.
