Brazilian girls and Space Vixens

I had planned on starting the day at a Free Fringe show, but I was exhausted and there was some heavy rain so I decided to skip it and went into town later.

I had to pick up some more Fringe tickets so first stop was the Fringe Shop on the Royal Mile... it rained... it rained a lot! In fact it wasn't just rain but thunder and lightning and hail! Yes hailstones in August! I managed to collect my tickets and made my way to the Assembly Hall on the Mound, I wanted to get there early as it's a big venue and there's always a long queue. I managed to get there early enough to grab a rum and coke, the barmaid was kind enough to offer me some paper towels as I was dripping wet. Luckily it stopped raining by the time I joined the queue for "Brazouka" and I got a front row centre seat (all seating is unallocated)! Score! It's a big spectacular dance show from Brazil with some fantastic dancing and VERY hot dancers! :-) It's such a shame I could not take pictures as I had a great view and they did look spectacular.

After that I had headed up to see "Oh My Godley!" which is a one woman stand-up comedy show, although there was actually a short bit from her daughter as way of an intro, I'd seen Jane Godley a couple times and wasn't a 100% convinced but my friends said it was a great show so I went. Jane was brilliant (her daughter was also very funny), she's a very down-to-earth Glaswegian and tells it like she sees it, she admitted that tonight's show went totally off-script as she got side-tracked by the audience and didn't do half of her planned show. It was hysterical and I had tears rolling down my cheeks, which does not happen very often!

After Jane's show I had a couple hours to kill so grabbed a couple pints before going to see "Saucy Jack and the Space Vixens" I remember seeing this advertised at the Fringe a few years ago but didn't go and see it, according to wikipedia it was an original show back in 2010 and has since gone on to play in London's West End and returned to The Fringe this year. It's a fabulously wacky musical, a sort of cross between Barbarella and The Rocky Horror Show definitely not to everyone's taste but I loved it! It's a two hour show with a short break, which was a god send as I was desperate to relieve myself of those couple pints I had drunk! It's a very informal show (during the break the cast were posing and taking photos with the audience, and encourage the audience all to get up and dance with them at the end) and I didn't think they'd mind my snapping this image near the end of "Saucy Jack" & the head Vixen "Honey Tipps/Jubilee Climax"
