I'm afraid that is what everyone looked like from the height of the Dubrovnik walls.

The walls were...an experience. Well worth it, but I can only imagine the hell for cruise ship passengers who have to do it in the full heat of the day with thousands of others. Even though we went later on in the day it was still pretty busy, so much so that I didn't want to stop much to take pictures...I always felt like I was in someone else's way - or more selfishly, they were in my way.

I wouldn't miss doing it though, and seeing Dubrovnik Old Town from the city walls was definitely an eye-opening experience. There is a lot that you can't see from ground level that is suddenly clear from up here. And the large glass of beer after our descent down was most welcome!

So for those who are interested - this picture is of the circular Onofrio Fountain (named after its Neapolitan builder) at the Pile Gate entrance. It was built in the fifteenth century, and the fountain was connected by aqueduct with a spring 12 kilometres from the town.
