Nice Work If you Can Get It
Lovely day down the other end of the island with the P6 pupils from some of Mull's schools on another Reading Rocks workshop.
I travelled down in S's car and en route we picked up hitch hiker Jesper from Brussels, a free spirit whose work mainly included juggling and being a model for life drawing classes. He's been walking (maps and compasses not being part of his philosophy) and doing wild camping with just a sleeping bag and fly sheet on Skye and Mull. His friend Max's spirit broke before getting as far as Mull, apparently Scotland can be a 'beast' - torrential rain had featured a lot for them as did much 'spongy spongy ground'. He is now back in Brussel's (with the tent poles!) enjoying good coffee. Jesper didn't have a very good night last night. Tonight hopefully he is safely tucked up doing a retreat on Iona.
The quarry and nearby beach provided a beautiful setting for the workshop and the weather couldn't have been kinder to us. The pupils made casts of their hands and feet in the sand. Washing the results looks a bit disturbing though! Best viewed large.
