A slice of Lesley's life

From here to there*

For all the years we have been coming to this beach we have watched people get in kayaks on the shore and head off diagonally towards the rock at the end of the bay and disappear. Finally today we got to do the same. I did buy a (very) cheap disposable camera from the Oriental Bazaar but, perhaps not surprisingly, it failed so there is no record of our adventure. So let this blip serve as a reminder. And a record that we made it as far as the third rock past this one and saw a secret beach and caves. Beyond the protection of the bay the waves rose to quite a swell and we weren't feeling quite brave enough to enter the cave. Well, I wasn't....and interestingly when I lost confidence and had a wobble my boy kayak partner stepped up to the job and asked, "what do you need me to do?" "Paddle as fast as you can back past the rocks!"

Great way to work up an appetite for a fish lunch on the beach.

Home for a few hours work with my favourite work person.

Tomorrow we must start to get our heads around getting ready to shut up shop and head back to London.

But now, a quick swim before dinner.
