Happy 18th Birthday Golden Delicious!!!

I can't believe my little Golden Delicious is 18! How can it be when it's only a tiny, short time since he was born?! Time is definitely speeding up!!!

Alan was awake early, full of joy and anticipation of the day ahead. Not sure if the reason for that was his birthday or the fact Anna, one of his new (and favourite) support workers was on duty today. She's young, she's blonde, she's attractive. All his criteria met!

He opened his gifts from David and me before lunch and loved them all. The Tess Daly t-shirt was a particular fave. I held it against him and he just kept looking down at his chest and grinning!

The best bit though was seeing his excitement at his main gift. A trip to Disneyland Paris. He was beside himself. It's not a particularly grown up present I know, but he's been desperate to go back since we went years ago and he loved the rides. I'm not sure how many he'll be able to access now but nothing ventured! :))

Ele and my niece Jennifer arrived and we set about getting the house ready for the birthday bbq tomorrow. Jen and Anna put up all the bunting, balloons and banners, before Anna headed out with Alan to get him a birthday haircut. Alas the barber was queued out the door so no luck. Anna put gel in it and spiked it up a bit instead. He liked that (won't let us near his hair with gel!)

All exhausted by the end of the day but almost everything is ready for tomorrow.
