Newport Transporter Bridge View
My brother called in for a cuppa, during his working day, and collected his money for selling his ticket for a couple of games. I also caught the postman with a couple of parcels which will save me another journey to the Royal Mail sorting office. Makes a change.
One of the the parcels was a present for a friend for his birthday in November, and the other was a conversion lens from Hong Kong for my Fuji X100s. The real add on lens is just short of £280. I went out around Newport to shoot a few photo's and test it out. It works remarkably well, better than I thought, so considering it was under £17 delivered, it's another winner to our Foreign Friends.
The blip photo is an aerial view of Newport Transporter Bridge showing the car transporter mid journey.
It is a lovely day, with showers lasting minutes, before the sun re-appears. Children were fishing in the River Usk infront of me. Great to see them away from their computer screens and doing good old fashioned kids things.
The wife is stressed in work. This is the second day they've sent her home early. It's all to do with the cutbacks and staff shortages in the public sector. She's not the only one suffering, and the effects are starting to have an effect on the employee. It doesn't help when they've had no rises for a few years and things have still gone up. I heard today the bank base rate has been raised for the first time in years.
It seems the only one's benefitting are the politicians who voted these stinging cuts but have given themselves a massive pay rise, via an outside review body they appointed. Their pensions are untouched, too!
No wonder UKIP are storming ahead with people supporting them. Everyone is fed up of the same old....
