France Day 9 : L'église de St Martin

Another day, another chateau and another couple of churches.

This very old, very simple church near the village of Noizé was the only building left standing after a dreadful plague, when all the houses were burned to the ground. The graveyard is still being used, the most recent gravestone dated 2013, although some of them were centuries old.

Once again the sun has shone and the clouds in the blue blue sky have wowed us with their beauty.

Off to La Rochelle tomorrow for some sea air...
