Tres exotic
It's always strange (vaguely disconcerting?) for us northern Europeans to see where our culinary delicacies come from - these are almonds, growing on the patio outside our bedroom at the B&B.
I remember being in the Cook Islands and being puzzled by a really strange, spiky crop in a field. It took me a while to realise that it was pineapples. You don't think of them growing out of the ground somehow. In the next field were avocados and further along the road row upon row of banana trees.
