A Trip to Hell

It was not a bad trip though, it's just that the warm crater in Askja is call Víti which means hell. The weather was sunny and we could see all the mountains. It was an added adventure that there is earthquakes below Bárðarbunga in the glacier just south of Askja and if the volcano erupts it's too dangerous to stay there. We just made it out before the decision to evacuate the whole area was made. This is the river that will flood and destroy the bridges downstream, if an eruption happens under the glacier, which is just behind these mountains.
