This four foot long King Snake visited our front door step this afternoon. The recent rains may have flushed him out of his hole. He may also be looking for a mouse or a pack rat to eat. These critters are helpful by eating pests, so I let him go on his way.

They are named King because they prey on other snakes. Wikipedia has a picture of a King Snake eating a Rattlesnake.

Living on a wash will give us a chance to see more wildlife than when we lived on a city street.
