... a long pine cone, originally green. He's obviously going to leave the core. He's rather high up in a conifer, fairly distant, and I was glad to capture him this well.

Kate and Tom arrived today from Maine; they are avid birders and Tom also actively photographs birds. They appear in this image from last year (which I also linked to yesterday).
