Day 5 - Hythe to Guildford
Today was a gruelling ride: against the wind, lots of rain and a savage 15%+ hill at the end of it all - one experience cyclist I know describes a 10% gradient as "loss of sense of humour" steep.
Today the route went past the home of the family of Keira Lee, a brave girl who sadly died from her brain tumour last year aged just two years old. Her family and neighbours turned out to welcome us with tea and cake. Talking to Keira's mum was very emotional and a reminder of why we are doing this ride and the importance of the research at CBTRC.
I have now done 478 miles / 765 km. That means I am over a third of the way through!
Tomorrow, another 99 miles of hilly Cotswolds finishing in Chipping Camden.
