Au Revoir, Summer

The leaves change colour to give notice to the summer that it has had its chance, and it is time for her to move on - autumn is waiting at the gate, and will not be denied.

It's been a good summer - busy, but good. The Commonwealth Games dominated, with video filming back in May, rehearsals throughout June and July, then the opening ceremony itself. We as a family went to see the athletics and had a great evening, Glasgow basked in unaccustomed sunshine as it welcomed the world - and acquited itself very well.

For the kids, it was a summer of participation in sport, whether that be golf or figure skating. Both did really well and have improved greatly over the summer months, as well as enjoying what they are doing.

So that was summer. Roll on autumn, I am sure you are going to be fun!
