Final week

We are now in the final week of the Scottish Parliament before we go into recess for the final four weeks of the referendum campaign. Today was the last sitting of the Education and Culture Committee before the referendum and we spent the time completing stage 2 of the Historic Environment Scotland bill.

This afternoon was spent in the chamber passing a finance bill which establishes Revenue Scotland and a bill on parking for disabled people.

On the way out of the parliament tonight I decided to take some pictures of the building which I hope will soon be the parliament of an independent Scotland. Where debates will soon take place about our place in the world, the removal of WMDs from our country, the establishment of a written constitution that will enshrine the NHS as a public service free at the point of need and so much more.
