Fitzcarraldo Clock

A short drive out from where we're staying took us to a boatyard serving as the resting place of this mast clock which used to be mounted on a ship called the Fitzcarraldo.

I'm not entirely sure what happened to the ship or how her clocktower came to be here but now if you put £1 in, the top rises amidst billowing smoke and reveals mechanical fish which spin around (the fish don't spin at the moment but they did appear).

It is a little surreal but enjoyable all the same.
