Verity

Verity stands over Ilfracombe Harbour, and is the work of Damien Hirst.

Standing over 66ft tall, she weighs over 25 tonnes and represents truth and justice. An anatomical cross-section of her head and torso reveal her skull and child inside her womb. I'm sure she has proved a controversial centrepiece to the town - but there is no denying it is a truly magnificent piece of sculpture.
