Beautiful Barney

We went up to Beacon Country Park this afternoon, just for an hour or so; the sole purpose was so I could take some shots of the surrounding areas from the view point, as it has been quite a clear bright day today. I got some decent shots, we could even see as far as Blackpool Tower, the wind turbines off Crosby, and the cooling towers, which I think are towards Runcorn. I was pretty happy! We enjoyed our walk, and as we were descending towards to car park we noticed a green gazebo in the shelter of some trees with one or two people gathered around........with some of the parks rangers. Obviously you have to investigate these things as you never know what you might find! Well, as you can see, we found this beautiful barn owl, together with a large hawk, and a really cute little owl, which if I heard correctly, was an American burrowing owl! Really hard to choose which shot to share with you, but I plumped for this one as I like how you can see his feathers in all their glory.
