Independence

The idea today was to go for a walk in the country, however the rain suggested this would not be a good idea. We were near Alford so a visit to the Grampian Transport Museum seemed like a good way of keeping out of the rain for an hour or so.

The rain was not constant, but the showers were heavy and fairly frequent. This small tank is parked just outside the museum. Inside there are several vehicles associated with the Great Train Robbery, including a lorry on which the money was to be transported.

In just over a month Scotland will vote on whether or not to be independent, unlike some other countries in the past, the services of the vehicle in the photograph are unlikely to be called upon, even in the event of the more likely outcome.
