American goldfinch
This is the male of the species, enjoying the sun and seeds at our Bird Bistro. As is often the case, the females aren't nearly as colorful. Actually, they are a bit on the dull side. However, when fall arrives, the males will lose all this bright-colored plumage and become just as dull-looking as their mates.
Thanks to everyone who left comments and stars on yesterday's monarch. He enjoyed his time in the spotlight.
