Spiders are clever.

Last night there were loads of tiny baby spiders hanging from threads beneath the canopy at our front door..
Close inspection revealed that they were just the normal Common Garden variety. Mum and Dad spider had been really busy I thought, and not wanting to hurt them I dragged my finger through the threads they were hanging from and deposited them carefully in the rose bush.
I missed a few, or maybe they came down later, because I got a face full of baby spiders when I came out the door at 5.30 this morning.
But, these little guys always amaze me because they are born with the natural instinct to spin beautiful webs.
The little guy in this picture, which can't be seen very well because I had to use flash to show the web, is only about 10% of his fully grown size, yet he created this web overnight. :)
