a new year!

D is for...

Durban House, the home to the D H Lawrence Heritage Centre.

Took a walk long the blue line tonight with Pete. The blue line follows the route of some points of interest regarding the life of DH Lawrence. Durban House is a beautiful building, built in 1896 for the Barber Walker mining company (who owned just about everything in Eastwood, including the canal in yesterdays blip!). The house acted as the wages office for Brinsley Colliery, just down the road, where DH Lawrences father worked.

Whacked today, after a wonderful weekend. Bad nights sleep last night, woken up by Pete at 1.30am, and didn't have much sleep afterwards.

Needless to say i was number blind by mid afternoon! though still managed to get through my pile of invoices i'd set as a target for today!
