A Coffee Date

Today is the last day of the boys' summer holidays so sadly it's back to early mornings again for us all. I often feel bad for poor Martin who is the only one up in the mornings in the summer, getting ready for work while we continue in our blissful state of slumber. What a champion!

Had a physio appointment today (YES!!!) after three weeks. Mel said my shoulders were good, neck was tight. Not bad :/

I also had a coffee date with this charming lady ... my friend Marisol. Marisol is the mother of a lady in our church and she has been visiting Hong Kong since March. She had initially come for three months, but extended her stay twice as she just loved it so much. She is retired and therefore was able to stay without too much problem. BUT sadly, really sadly, she is leaving on Wednesday and wanted to buy me coffee to say farewell.

We have gotten quite close since she's been here. Have had some 'girl' time together and I've valued her friendship, love and encouragement tremendously. She is the perfect mixture of my mum and Martin's mum together and since neither are with us anymore, I really appreciated her being here, even if for a short while. I know she was here to visit her family, but I feel like I benefitted too :)

We did have a farewell gathering after church yesterday and she shared with me that she would love to come back again and live here for longer. She found DB to be a wonderful place, with friendly people, great church and good weather. She is originally from Venezuela but lives in Puerto Rico. So I hope and pray that God would meet the desire of her heart and bring her back .... to her family (and me!!).

The two other pix are of the quote on the board in the coffee shop ... it struck me, so true! And I was getting irritated with the server as she took ages with my cafe mocha and finally when she was done, she brought that beautifully decorated coffee out! She must have put so much love into that and I felt so bad for getting irritated! It looked and tasted beautiful.

So tomorrow, the start of Jon's final year of school and Ben's first year of IB. It has just gone tooooooooooo fast.
