Jodrell Bank

Took the boys here today. The centre has changed so much in recent years, and there's now lots of hands on stuff to keep the boys amused for hours.

This is the Lovell Telescope. When it was constructed in 1955, it was the largest steerable dish radio telescope in the world. It's now the third largest, after the Green Bank telescope in West Virginia, USA, and the Effelsberg telescope in Germany.
