When JB went adventuring on his own up here he'd ring me when he got to the top and I'd wave a duvet cover from the back of the house.
As well as two bronze age burial mounds there are the remains of a guard house when the beacon was used during the Napoleonic Wars. I'm not sure what role this windy hill top played in the defeat of Napoleon - it seems a long way from France!
