Aglais urticae (at last)

Having loved other blippers butterfly shots recently (especially this)  it made me think; we've not seen many butterflies this year in the garden - I think I've only blipped one tatty fellow back in June - yet with the mixed weather I'd have thought I'd have seen more - maybe the strong winds have blown them away - or maybe, like the sunshine - they were all around whilst I was over in the Alps.

This chap (or indeed chap-ess) was sunning himself on the garage window sill as I was loading the van with climbing kit today - hopefully there'll be a few more before the weather turns.
