Indian Brook Beach
A busy but extremely rich day here for me!
First off, i drove up the Cabot Trail (always a glorious thing to do on a summers day) to have a long over due visit with a good friend Susan Zettell! We started off with a leisurely breakfast at the Clucking Hen! Then we headed down the road to a lovely gallery that i haven't really explored! it was so interesting to see the kind of art that is going on here on Cape Breton. One woman's work really struck me....i couldn't afford the painting so i bought the card!!!! We then took to the stoney beach and walked for about an hour, exchanging stories and laughter! It was just so delightful to have such a varied visit.....we both agreed that we need to that more often!!!
Then home to find an email from a long standing friend from my other life, in Muskoka! Kelly (who was my daughters' first babysitter) is out here traveling with her 2 kids, camping - so she dropped by for a lovely visit too! It's so interesting to catch up with folks you spent some time with many years ago.....my daughters always had a very deep fondness for Kelly. She actually went on to coach them in hockey and then this past year Bronwyn and her played against each other in a game! Time is such an amazing equalizer eh!!
Terry and i have just unloaded a glaze kiln and there are some absolute stunners - it is so exciting when the new pieces are at the top of the kiln and there is one piece that i am so happy with!
Now it's time for a mojito...actually i need to get the 2nd one going....and start dinner.
Feeling a bit tired but pleasantly satisfied with this day.
oh and i forgot to mention.....my computer decided to give up on me last night (luckily we have this extra little lap top) but i'm rather pissed off that neither Terry or I can figure out what has happened. So it's off to the computer doctor in the morning!!!
