the king of them all

Of all the birds I try to photograph the kingy remains my firm favourite.

On Friday evening I hoped to bring a kingfisher blip but my search only found a torrential rain storm and I returned home soaked to the skin. This morning however I was rewarded with a number of fabulous opportunities. They are such fabulous birds, this is a female that was spending quite a time with her juvenile.

It is worth looking at the detail of the bird if you are interested.
