Womanzone: 'Creating a safer environment'

Picture of the 'Womanzone' project in the Harewood Street area of Wauchope in Niddrie. This project was set up in the 90's in an attempt to make the streets safer for the local female population by providing a drop-in centre. The project would try to tackle a number of issues such as physical abuse, drugs and street-lighting. The project also tried to get some trusted members to try to patrol the area for a short while.
