Growing old disgracefully

ONION HARVEST

'Life is like an onion, you peel off one layer at a time and sometimes you weep.'
Carl Sandburg

Breakfast with the Beautiful Bees, then a lovely unexpected meeting with the amazing MM, followed by onion harvesting sandwiching a wee but delicious nap. Now awaiting the arrival of Son No 1.

The devastation in the garden during a week's absence could make me weep, but I am made of sterner stuff. The slugs are eating the onions, the broad beans have blown over, the tomatoes have snapped under the weight of the fruit and the coriander died from drought. Sigh.
