Wow! What a start to the day.

Apparently most of Europe was hit by the tap end of a tropical stem travelling across the Atlantic. The results on Orta were probably no different from the rest of Europe - when we awoke you couldn't see the other side of the lake for rain and mist.

After the worst had passed we headed to the centre of San Giulio and had a few moments of sunshine (where I snapped these colourful frontages) before the clouds rolled in again.
