Northern Skies.

The Fells had shrugged an invisibility cloak of cloud round themselves this morning and settled down out of sight for the day. Derwentwater had white horses on its crumpled slatey grey surface, whipped along by Atlantic weather systems copycatting last weekend's ex hurricane Bertha mischief. Big blodges of blue sky kept flaunting themselves, and then running and hiding again, all meteorologically perfect for taking dramatic pictures of lakes and mountains, less so for walking on the hills. So we went out and walked along the lake shore, along with many other frustrated fell walkers dog exercisers and holiday makers who would rather have been up in the mountains.
Tomorrow will be drier we hope.
