Ross Tyson, in his 80s, donned old-fashioned yellow oilskins as the figurehead cum mascot aboard the William Riley of Birmingham and Leamington. The 105-year-old lifeboat was put to the test the evening before a 20-mile row from Scarborough to Whitby in aid of the Supacat appeal.
