Watching Cricket in August
After the trials and tribulations of the last week I've been completely wiped out today. I've pretty much avoided being at the computer. I just couldn't face sitting down at it. The weather hasn't helped either. It's blown a gale here all day. Watching the cricket was a miserable experience both in terms of the temperature and the performance. Probably the less said about that the better. I first ran down and after a while did a circuit around Denton and Middleton to try to warm up but in the end had to run back home to get some more layers. And should have returned with even more. I didn't stay until the bitter end.
It's simply amazing how the weather Gods have picked out the weekends this summer to unleash the wind and rain. There have been a few good days but all the best of the summer, in the north at least, has been during the week. It's seemed very harsh on us Monday to Friday working folk. With the nights closing in now quite rapidly, and the football season starting, it all seems like it's coming to an end.
Well ... that was quite a downer. Sorry folks.
