Lych-gate shadows

Today's theme is Shapes and Shadows. Here is a picture of St Mary's Church in Fulford, taken through the Lych-gate. Traditionally this is where the coffin waited before being taken into the church for the burial service - so definitely a place of shadows.

On a brighter note, our third daughter has come to stay. She and her boyfriend were out hiking while Mrs G and I toured the farm stands looking for eggs (no luck) and other produce for our family dinner this evening. No. 1 son will be coming too, along with his girlfriend. So we are supplementing the produce from our garden with that from nearby gardens.
