Garden of Light

Taken inside the bottom of the minaret in Khiva, Uzbekistan.

At the base of the minaret there is a beautiful dramatic room, the roof supported by a wonderful, intricately hand carved series of columns and beams, with a square opening in the roof, giving stark contrast between the dark room and the bright garden in the center of it.
