Its funny what a quick trawl of old newspapers can come up with. This from the Cheltenham Chronicle dated 3 February 1894.
Today a sudden death would absorb a considerable amount of police time and a detailed examination in a Coroner's Court. Then, the death was discovered in the morning and the inquest held the same day in the bar of the local public house. How times have changed.
