Woolen fruit

We are spending a few days in the north of Iceland, in a town called Akureyri. The weather has not been very good, so today we drove around a bit and visited the Folk Art Museum which has a lot of very interesting and unusual exhibits, as well as a wonderful library of art related books. We spent some time looking through books on naive art, Italian interior decoration, gardens in Provence, farm tractors (!), Mexican decorations and of course Icelandic art. These knitted fruit was part of a selection of knitted objects which included a deer head...very strange but I thought quite well done.
