Happy Birthday, Pat!

The woman lucky enough to be my mother-in-law is with us this weekend to celebrate her 80th birthday. Several months ago we decided that her present was to get a box of 50-odd year old cine films (that we rescued in her last house move several years ago) converted to DVD, and this is a candid shot of her watching the results this afternoon.

To our great relief she really enjoyed watching them and thought it was a very thoughtful present... she remembered her late husband making the films back in the early 1960s but had forgotten that we had the case of old cine reels. So she saw footage of her eldest two as young kids for the first time in 50+ years. No footage of Ann though – she wasn't even a twinkle in anyone's eye at the time...!
