A pair of hares
We left Chester this morning en route for Betws-y-Coed, but detoured south to visit Powis Castle, which we had also visited on our 2010 tour from South Wales.
Powis was magnificent, as always, but I've decided to show a picture from Glansevern Hall, just a few miles away, as it's less well known. One website quotes a visitor as saying - “One of the most wonderful places on earth”, but he was exaggerating! A lovely garden, however, recently bought by new owners; at the top of the garden is the infant River Severn. This little canal, truncated by a telephoto lens, leads up from the park gates to the front door of the house.
