Poppies and lilies

One of the three gardens visited today - the others were Chapelside and Hutton-in-the-Forest - was Nunwick Hall at Great Salkeld, a little east of Penrith. A lovely 6 acre Victorian garden 'with a modern spin', Nunwick has sculptures dotted around the flower beds, including these giant poppy seed heads.

Yet another lovely place.
