Nibble nibble bite

We were down at the allotment this morning harvesting redcurrants, blackberries, raspberries, parsnips, beetroot, lettuces and then.................we went to get some sweetcorn.
We have had foxes seen to pull the corn plants down before eating them but this is high up on a raised bed out of reach. No evidence of rodent droppings so I wonder deer? But with just one corn nibbled a little and no others touched its a mystery. Any ideas?
