Binning Wood
Finally back into some sort of normality.
First school run of P3; preceded by an Asda run for bargains. After the bell, Alex and I wandered off around the playing fields and picked blackberries - enough for the first crumble of the year.
Back, cooked it, made packed lunches and then back to school, collected Tom - chaos in the playground - and then G and off out to East Linton.
Val / Cian / Maddie had agreed to go for a walk in Binning Wood. Obv there was muddiness and stick throwing and climbing and we found tepees a plenty to explore. Not sure how Val is adapting to motherhood in the country, but good to see her; Cian smiled throughout. Very happy baby. Chattering away, desperate to be included at all times.
Home, dinner for kids and movie; S came over and we had pan fried sea bass with pistachio tarragon rice (fried til crispy) and lime-y salad bits. Loved it; could have eaten and eaten and eaten. But had to leave room for crumble....!
They left at 8, boys in bed by nine, quiet internet surfing hour before collapsing quietly.
