Cherry Blossom

"A cherry blossom is the flower of any of several trees of genus Prunus" or so reads the description. All around Blackheath these beautiful trees are in bloom - most definitely an indication of early spring, even if today looked decidedly grim and wintery.

It seems that several blippers are having similar notions just at present and so I thought I should get in my own version while the idea was still fashionable. These particular blossoms are just around the corner from us. Soon most of the streets in town will be festooned with them.

I just happened to have the superzoom with me and to my delight I find it has a macro feature. This is the first time I've actually tried it
