Known unknowns

Window of the Northwest Library.

The doctor said I could do yoga and swim, so today I did yoga and swam. After that, I was done for the day. Much napping was had (as freespiral would say).

Major accomplishment: Returned more library items than I borrowed. Too tired even to watch a DVD.

Known unknowns: Waiting a week for test results.
Known knowns: So grateful for so much support from friends. May those who bless be blessed in return.
Unknown unknowns: Beats me!

"There are known knowns; there are things that we know that we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns, the ones we don't know we don't know."

— Donald Rumsfeld

I wonder if Rumsfeld got this from the Venn diagram of the Johari window, which describes things known and not known about ourselves by us and others.

The mysterious reflections in this image, especially the reverse writing in the leaves of the plant, reminded me of Rumsfeld's observation. I feel cloaked in mystery these days.
